OVERVIEW:
This project involved creating a series of promotional posters for the Reading Electronic Music Society (REMS), designed to advertise events such as Halloween, house parties and 'pub takeovers', across the university's surrounding areas and on social media. I aimed to produce eye-catching and adaptable designs that reflected the energy of each event while maintaining brand consistency.
During the project, the REMS branding evolved, providing an opportunity to refresh the posters with a more contemporary and cohesive look. Through updated typography, refined colour palettes and stronger visual hierarchy, the new designs enhanced brand recognition and ensured the promotional materials stood out across both print and digital platforms.
WHAT I LEARNT
This project helped me strengthen my understanding of brand development and how to adapt designs to reflect an evolving visual identity. I gained experience creating cohesive promotional materials for both print and digital use, ensuring consistency across different formats and audiences. Working on varied event themes taught me how to balance creativity with brand alignment, and how to tailor design choices, to help capture each event’s unique atmosphere.
